Rustica, a plant with a rustic character

Rustica® stands for using rough masonry in building façades and gateposts. Particularly, Opera Rustica is often used to refer to Italian palaces from the Renaissance. It implies a lot of relief, namely deep, wide grooves in the façade, and it also gives the façade a sturdier character. The aim of using rustic features is to enhance contrast and give a more natural, unrefined look.

The deep red colour of the pot Anthurium Rustica, together with the amount of flowers per plant, clearly emphasise the relief in the plant. As a consequence, the flowers stand out stylishly above the plant and this, once again, highlights the relief of this newcomer.

Expectations are also high because this plant is suitable for all pot sizes which makes it a genuine all-rounder. The results of the cold tolerance tests are good. A period of two consecutive days at 4°C has no negative effect on its good shelf life. These strong features ensure that Rustica has the potential to develop into a stable member of the selection of red Anthurium pot plants in the next few years.

From the beginning of December this year, Groene Tint Anthuriums will be selling the first flowering plants. The production quantities will further increase in the following month.

You can discover this newcomer at our stand 19.12 in hall 2 during the Royal FloraHolland Trade Fair.
