Exotic indoor plants that bring the summer feeling into your home

Sad, but true: the summer vacation is over. But that doesn’t mean the summer is over! Summertime usually means more time outside, but you can bring outside inside. We listed a number of exotic indoor plants that bring the summer feeling into your home. This way you’ll get a tropical feeling at home and can hold on to the summer feeling a little longer.

Exotic indoor plants

Anthurium

The anthurium originates from the rainforests of Colombia. The Austrian doctor and botanist Dr. Karl van Scherzer found the first species of anthurium and named it after himself: anthurium scherzerianum. The second species was discovered by Eduard Francois Andre, during an expedition through the Andes mountains in Ecuador and Colombia. He also named the species after himself: anthurium andreanum. The exotic plant is available in various colors. From orange to green, and from white to pink. That also makes it super suitable to bring the summer feeling into the house, because color stands for summer. There are also multicolored anthuriums, which can provide a very special contrast. Since the Anthurium comes from the tropics, it loves warmth and prefers high humidity. Preferably place the plant in a light place, but not in direct sunlight, and in a room with a temperature between 20 ° C and 22 ° C.

The phalaenopsis orchid is the most well-known species, and this variety alone is available in mant different shapes and colors. There are flowers in solid colors, stripes, speckles, spots or a color gradient. So you can choose exactly the pattern and/or colors that remind you most of the summer. Orchids love the sun, but don’t like direct sunlight. The plant doesn’t enjoy a lot of heat, so keep it away from the heating.
