Anthurium (pot plant)

Strong, healthy plants are important for an optimal start at the growing site. At Anthura, young plants are bred under strict hygiene conditions. Anthura is the only EliteĀ® certified supplier of Anthurium plants. Click here for more information on EliteĀ®.

Anthura provides the material for the growth of Anthurium pot plants in two plant size standards. A description of these plant types is given below. Important notice while choosing a plant type: the smaller the plant, the more difficult it will be to grow.

If young plants are not allowed into certain countries due to phytosanitary legislation, tissue culture plants can be delivered instead.

Plugs
Plant height: 6-12 cm
Finished after approximately: 12 month
Plants per plug: 2 or 3 (depending on the variety)
Medium: peat
Productcode: PP2 (plug)

This is the youngest plant Anthura offers. Due to the small size the freight costs of the plugs will be limited. Plugs must be grown in a 7 cm pot for 3 months. After 3 months the plant will have a size of approximately 10-15 cm and will be strong enough to transplant in the final pot. If you have a final pot with a diameter of 12 cm or smaller, it is not necessary to transplant the plug into a 7 cm pot. It can be transplanted directly in the final pot.

Growers with good cultivation conditions often prefer plugs.

7cm pots
Plant height: 10-18 cm
Finished after approximately: 9 month
Plants per plug: 2 or 3 (depending on the variety)
Medium: peat
Productcode: 7P2 (7cm pot)

This plant size is ideal for growers who prefer not to grow the plugs themselves. The 7 cm pot plant can be transplanted directly into the final pot.

Anthura supplies all plugs and 7 cm pots with 2 plants per plug/pot. Each plant will make cuttings and flowers. The advantage of 2 plants per plug is that in short time the grower obtains a nice bushy plant with a lot of flowers.
