Anthurium (cut flower)

Strong, healthy plants are important for an optimal start at the growing site. At Anthura, young plants are bred under strict hygiene conditions. Anthura is the only EliteĀ® certified supplier of Anthurium plants. Click here for more information on EliteĀ®.

Anthura provides material for the growth of Anthurium cutting flowers in three plant size standards. A description of these plant types is given below. Important notice while choosing a plant type: the smaller the plant, the more difficult it will be to grow.

If young plants are not allowed into certain countries due to phytosanitary legislation, tissue culture plants can be delivered instead.

Plugs
Plant height: 10-15 cm
Flowers after approximately: 8-9 months
Plants per plug: 1
Medium: oasis
Product code: PL1

The plug is the youngest plant Anthura has to offer. The plug shipping costs are low due to its small size. The plants have to be kept in a 9 cm pot seedbed for at least 4 months. After 4 months the plant is about 20-25 cm in size, and strong enough to be planted in the growing bed. Growers in distant locations with access to good seedbed conditions often choose this plant size.

Pots (20-25cm)
Plant height: 20-25 cm
Flowers after about: 4-5 months
Plants per 9 cm pot: 1
Medium: rock wool cubes
Product code: 201

This is the most requested plant type, due to the combined advantage of shipping volume and flowering time. Within Europe (road transport) and outside (air transport) many plants are shipped on carts and pallets. The plants can be placed directly into the growing bed and produce their first flowers within 4-5 months.

Pots (30-40cm)
Plant height: 30-40 cm
Flowers after about: 1-2 months
Plants per 9 cm pot: 1
Medium: rock wool cubes
Product code: 301

This is the largest plant size, and its flowers can be picked within weeks. The well-developed roots ensure a rapid growth. Growers who want to achieve full production in a short period of time choose this size.
