Anthura Breeding is responsible for research and the development into new varieties of Anthurium. The payoff of Anthura’s 'Unlimited in varieties' is the successful result of this department.
Cross-breeding takes place in this breeding greenhouse. The newly developed breeds are tested thoroughly and approved before considering their market introduction. The breeding process of Anthurium, and the time it takes for a new breed to be introduced, is about eight years.
Anthura Laboratory
The in-vitro laboratory is equipped with modern installations. The propagation of Anthurium and Phalaenopsis plants is carried out here using tissue culture. The hygiene standards are extremely high and work is carried out under sterile conditions. The tissue cultures can therefore meet the highest standards of quality.
Anthura Microplants
This location is where all microplants are hardened (the process of producing microplants in a protected environment) and sorted according to size. Furthermore, micro-cuttings and plug shipments are prepared, packaged and then sent to countries all over the world from this location.
Anthura Production
Anthura Production is a fully automated and robotised young-plant factory. The plugs are potted here, after which they grow to various plant sizes. Anthura classifies different product types according to plant size.
Anthura Flower
All new and existing Anthurium varieties for the cut flower culture are carefully tested and inspected in this greenhouse on the Anthuriumweg (Anthurium Road). We attempt to determine the ideal cultivation conditions for each variety. Important factors are hereby: climate conditions, fertilisation, air humidity, cultivation medium and plant care.
The new varieties can be admired in Anthura Flower, as the greenhouse display is open to visitors. Their feedback is a valuable source of information for the breeders.
Anthura Arndt
This subsidiary is located in Germany, here all the Phalaenopsis young plants are grown and new varieties are tested. Their plant nursery sorts all young plants according to size, therefore guaranteeing the delivery of similar plants.
