Innovation and strong breeding
Anthura’s Anthurium varieties are tested over long periods of time before they are introduced on the market. This is very important for the Anthurium cut flower culture as the plant is produced over the course of 6 years. A team of breeders is continuously improving the Anthurium and Orchid assortment. The assortment consists of more than 100 Anthurium and 100 Orchid varieties and is extended daily with new colours and shapes.
Strong and healthy plant material
Anthura was the first Anthurium business to obtain permission to grant Elite®-certificates, as from 1 January 1998. This recognition was granted by Naktuinbouw after extensively examining the breeding systems of the company and monitoring their own control system and that of the
Bureau IMAC.
Research is performed in particular in the areas of nematodes, bacteria, and viruses. This concerns a research process, rather than the one-off visual control which is normally carried out by Naktuinbouw with each delivery. The Elite®-certificate is an extra warranty of quality, in addition to the standard control carried out by the PD (Plantenziektenkundige Dienst – specialised in plant diseases) and the
Naktuinbouw (Nederlandse Algemene Keuringsdienst voor Bloemisterij- en Boomkwekerijgewassen - Dutch agency for horticulture approvals).
Anthura is proud of this Elite®-certificate and sees it as a recognition of their efforts. The Elite®-certificate is also important for the breeders, as it is an extra warranty of quality with respect to breed purity and authenticity, and the health of all plant material. Click

Anthura is the only company in the world that has been Elite® certified for Anthurium plants. The Orchid plants are also produced according to strict hygienic standards.
