29-01-2010 | On Monday January 25, 2010 Metz organised for the fourth time the Metz Day, a special florists’ show for the French florists, held in the Parc Floral de Paris Vincennes.Once a year Metz organises this event to strengthen the contact with its relations and to get into contact with potential customers. The fact is that France lacks a real florists’ show.
The theme of the Metz Day this year was 'Fleurs & Beauté' and also this year the number of visitors was higher than in all previous years. Since 2009 all French florists are invited to visit Metz, also the ones that are not customer yet. Furthermore various companies and authorities participate in the day; among them is a delegation of Dutch companies.
Also this year Anthura was present on the Metz Day and showed a large assortment of Anthurium cut flowers.
Spotlight on Anthurium
Striking was the enormous need of information of the florists. Product-specific characteristics appeared not always to be known in spite of the popularity of the product.
The product is in France top-of-the-bill and that is to be seen in the shops in and around Paris. It is an exclusive cut flower with a luxury appearance, which is appreciated by the French florist and is used frequently.
From conversations with florists it appeared that a larger assortment is desired. There are many varieties which one does not know or not sufficiently know; here clearly lie lots of possibilities.
Dutch Creations
Anthura is a member of Dutch Creations, an interesting platform for florists. On the Metz Day the French florists have entered massively their names for the Dutch Creations newsletter. This newsletter offers florists inspiration, tips, information and ideas.
The cooperation between Anthura as a breeder and Metz as a flower exporter has brought a good data flow to the user, the florist.
