Full Colour® winner of "Glass Tulip"

20-01-2012 | The winners of the Glass Tulip (Glazen Tulp) 2012 were announced in Hotels van Oranje in Noordwijk on Thursday evening last week. The Glass Tulip prize is awarded yearly by FloraHolland to a successful market introduction. In the category concepts the Glass Tulip was given to the cut flower concept Full Colour®

The popular Dutch television presenter and president of the jury Rob Verlinden awarded the 'Glass Tulip' to Mr. Nic van der Knaap, developer of the concept and former Anthura B.V. director, stressing the importance of the prize for the Anthurium cut flower culture.

Glass Tulip award for Full Colour®
Full Colour® is a ready-to-use Anthurium cut flower concept with an excellent shelf life. With the introduction of Full Colour®, Anthura is aiming at the trend towards convenience: a ready-to-use Anthurium bouquet, positioned as luxury gift article for higher segment retail. The concept consists of several Anthurium flowers freshly packed in protective ‘airbags’, complete with a specially designed hand-blown glass vase. Convenience at its best.

Both the professional jury and the prominent jury agreed unanimously that the Full Colour® concept is thought out in the smallest details. The jury also noted that Anthurium Full Colour® is a success among male consumers: a modern simple vase, well thought-out and not too expensive for the target group. The excellent shelf life is a huge advantage.

Rudy Tuinman, member of the jury and Creative Director of a Dutch Design agency called 2Design said: "the shape of the glass vase, forming part of the concept, is superb and the included knife completes the concept".

Anthura sells Full Colour® to the intermediary trade and its production takes place in collaboration with cut flower Anthurium growers.

Garden Orchid second prize
The product Garden Orchid also reached the finals. The winter hard garden orchid of Anthura B.V. achieved a second place in the garden plants category. A Phalaenopsis for the living room and Garden Orchid for the garden; a perfect match according to the jury.

Garden Orchid is a seasonal product and is only available at Anthura B.V for the intermediary trade in spring.
