Anthura varieties prizewinners

11-10-2007 | At the judging session of the Horti Fair 2007 growers succesfully entered Anthura varieties resulting in four prizewinners.

The Permanent Judging Committee (VKC) has awarded� four cut flower varieties. Of which three Anthurium and one Phalaenopsis variety.The VKC is active in the field of quality judging activities in the green sector and secondly in the field of registration of floricultural products.

1st price for Kobe
Nursery Pulcher from Dongen has successfully entered Phalaenopsis cut flower variety Kobe for the judging session. An impressive variety, Kobe has many big white flowers and is strong.

1st price for Marysia
Nursery Wiko from Kwintsheul has successfully entered Anthurium cut flower variety Marysia for the judging session. Marysia has proven to be a real eye-catcher. It has a charming soft yellow colour and its flower shape is magnificent. With its fresh, pale yellow colour and an exceptionally long vase life of 41 days, Marysia is a justifiable prizewinner.

2nd price for Calore and 3rd price for Angel
Nursery Tailflower from Nootdorp has successfully entered Anthurium cut flower varieties Calore and Angel for the judging session. Calore is a beautiful red variety, it has a bright colour and a beautiful gloss. Angel is like its name describes a true angel. It is a very attractive flower with a nice white colour. Angel has a vase life of approximately 39 days.

Of the top 10 best Anthurium cut flower varieties at the judging session as much as eight varieties are from Anthura. Apart from the three prizewinners Marysia, Calore and Angel the following varieties had also been nominated:

Choco: entered by nursery Anthurium Adventure V.O.F from Bleiswijk.
Sirion: entered by nursery Oosterzon from Moerkapelle.
Casino: entered by nursery Tailflower from Nootdorp.
Nunzia: entered by nursery Wiko from Kwintsheul.
