On the 28th, 29th and 30th of September, well established flower arranging artists from twenty countries will take part in the Flower Arranging European Championship which is taking place in Velenje this year.
During the selection competition in January of this year Sjacco Gerritsen (Dutch champion of 2006) was found to be the top candidate. He will represent The Netherlands in Slovenia.
Dutch Creations, the collaboration of eight authoritative breeders, are sponsoring his ticket and are making the required flowers and plants available. Dutch Creations are also organising their transport and all the groundwork. In this way Sjacco can concentrate completely on his artistic creation and represent The Netherlands perfectly. Sjacco: “My optimal effort is not only for my own glory but I also have a responsibility towards the whole of the flower industry and the position that The Netherlands holds in the world as the pre-eminent flower country.”
Materials for all candidatesDutch Creations are also sponsoring the flowers and plants for other candidates. One of these candidates is Leonidas Rammos from Greece. Because of the terrible fires in Greece he was left without any materials so Dutch Creations have helped him out and made all his required flowers and plants available. All candidates have to fulfil six tasks in two days, one of which is still secret and one is a joint effort. Candidates are also using Dutch Creations’ quality products for this task.
WinnerThe prize for the European Champion consists of a trip to Amsterdam as well as the honour of winning the Dutch Creations Trophy. Dutch Creations will invite the winner to present their creations to the international public during the Horti Fair. This will take place at the collective demonstration section in hall 7 at the RAI. This trade fair is taking place from the 9th to the 12th October 2007.
Dutch CreationsDutch Creations sees itself as inspirer, service provider and expert in the epicentre of the chain. The joint range is very complete and consists of thirty product groups which also represent the top ten cut flowers and top ten pot plants. The combination of knowledge and the network of eight authoritative breeders inspires and helps national and international retailers and wholesalers to translate their own specific requirements in the area of flowers and plants. The inspiration coming from ambitious breeders, representatives and marketeers flows down through the marketplace and keeps a careful eye on the consumer. Because of this only the varieties with the best chance are selected and concepts are based on the wishes of the diverse links in the chain and the consumer.
