24-09-2009 | A lot of publicity for Phalaenopsis ‘Anthura Kobe’ during the Flower Arrangement Happening Alden Biesen in the beautiful complex of castles in Bilzen, Belgium.

From 18-21 September, Alden Biesen was the centre of attention of spectacular flower arrangements. The theme of the 14th edition of the flower arrangement happening was ‘The Royal Edition’. A real Mecca for the lover of flower arranging that feels very strongly about skills and command. As visitor the event was an inexhaustible treasury of inspiration.

Young talent and well-known names, among others Philippe Bas, Marie-Francoise Deprez, Team Daniël Ost, Rob Plattel, Robert Koene, Geert Pattyn, Stef Adriaenssens, Moniek Vanden Berghe ensured flower creations from a trendsetting design to the more classical creations. A visitor at Alden Biesen could discover how he/she could create a special atmosphere at home or at a special event with something small.

The ones that love a wedding in mediterranean spheres were able to follow one of the workshops of Robert Koene. This artist in flower arranging from the Netherlands moved to Greece a few years ago. On the occasion of the 'Royal Edition' he visited Belgium in order to give among others the bridal workshop 'A romantic bridal bouquet with a mediterranean touch’.

The royal coat is made by Marie-Françoise Deprez. She made a kind of tailor’s dummy of paperboard in the coat and as a result of that, the combination is actually only flowers and cardboard.
