28-01-2009 | On January 26th of this year Anthura was present at the annual Metz Day in France. An idea of the France department of Metz and a desired solution for the absent of a real florist exhibition in France: the Metz Day!

Metz is an international flower and plant supplier for florists, with an eye for quality and exclusivity. Metz purchases its products directly from growers and distributes these in approximately 24 hours to more than 2.500 clients in Europe and North-America.

The French florists and exhibitors were wildly enthusiastic about the earlier editions in 2007 and 2008. This year, for the first time Metz also invited French florists who were not Metz clients (yet). More than 30 companies participated in the Metz day. As part of a Dutch delegation, Anthura, Optiflor and Fair Flowers Fair Plants were also exhibitors.

This year the presentation of the ‘Scala Verd’Or’ trophy took place, a trophy acknowledged by the French Federation of florists (FNFF) and ticket for the final of the ‘Coupe Nationale des Fleuristes’. Anthura sponsored cut flowers for this competition.

The French trade press was also present at the Metz Day: Informations Fleuristes, Fleurs de France, Fleuristerie and the First online floral magazine ‘Fleurnews’.

Anthura showed a lot of novelties. As breeder Anthura takes a step further and maintains its conversation with florists. The many visitors were enthusiastic about the new Anthurium cut flower varieties Morano®, Essencia® and Narita® shown in the stand.

The French florists were very pleased with the possibilities Dutch Creations offers. Anthura introduced the website of Dutch Creations and the possibilities of it. A lot of florists registered themselves for the Dutch Creations newsletter. They will soon receive a lot of information about new varieties, product information, inspiration themes, step by step etc.

In harmony with the theme of the Metz Day 2009 ’Women, flowers and pictures’ Metz closed the exhibition with a special photo shoot of the well-known photographer Iris Brosch.
