New Anthurium plug

28-04-2008 | In week 18 Anthura will start with test deliveries of a new Anthurium plug. This new plug is developed in view of the production in the new greenhouse.

Anthura's aim is further optimizing the plant/plug proportion. The new plug will be used for the cultivation of both pot plants as cut flower plants.

During the first deliveries the plant size will be comparable with the current plant size Anthura delivers. Eventually the plant size could become bigger as a result of a further optimized plant/plug proportion. 

The volume of the new plug will be 60% bigger. The number of plugs per box will therefore be lower; more boxes will be needed for package of the same amount of plugs. We will do our utmost to minimize a possible raise of transport costs.

The changes 
•   Plug volume will be bigger; preferably during potting of the plants the drill    hole in the pot should be made bigger;
•   Loading of the plugs will be lower; per delivery more boxes/ package will be needed;
•   With the bigger plug, a bigger size young plant will be possible in the future;

In week 18 the first test deliveries will be available. They will be delivered along with the regular plugs so you will become acquainted with the new plug. The test deliveries are planted at random so the new plug will be spread over all our clients.
