Top three highest quality; all Anthura varieties

15-10-2009 | Besides the competition for the Horti Fair Innovation Award another competition for the most highest quality varieties is being held. It is the greatest product judging event for flowers and plants worldwide and it also reflects the width and depth of the range.

The Permanent Judging Committee (called the VKC) tested the many novelties and Anthura varieties were awarded. The selection was of varieties was made in the House of Quality at the Horti Fair in Amsterdam.

The Anthurium pot plants White Champion and Rodius of grower Gebr. C.P. en C.J. Stolk BV and Arebo of grower Breugem Plants became number one, two and three. These varieties gained the highest scores at the inspection of the independent jury.

White Champion® is a well known and popular champion and is like its sister Pink Champion a beauty. The plant has innumerable white flowers and a calm personality. With its white colour this plant fits in every interior and can be given at every occasion.

Rodius®
is a novelty within the red coloured assortment. It is an Anthurium pot plant with medium size dark red coloured flowers suitable for the 14 and 17 cm pot. Rodius is a generously bushy plant with nice dark green leafs.

Arebo® is not just red. Red is the main colour in the world of Anthurium pot plants. Approximately 60-70% of all Anthurium pot plants delivered to auctions is red. Anthura has already introduced several red top plants from its breeding program in order to meet increasingly high expectations. Thanks to its shelf life, compact shape and bright colour, the new Arebo® variety is a new star in the selection. The variety can be grown in either 14 or 17 cm pots. With its large, bright, ‘marked’ red flowers with white spadix and yellow tip, Arebo is an Anthurium pot plant for the future.

Its compact shape allows this variety to be marketed as a short plant in a 17 cm pot. The loading ratio in Danish containers will be better, making it more advantageous for transport. In short, Anthura not only focuses on the benefits of each variety, but also on the enhanced performance that growers can achieve with a new Anthurium pot plant.

Anthura congratulates both growers with this excellent result.
