Amis symbol at gala event of Champions for Children in Milan
15-06-2009 | On Monday June 8th the Champions for Children foundation had organised, a benefit gala event in Milan, for the victims of the earthquake in Abruzzo, Italy. Clarence Seedorf is the initiator of the Champions for Children foundation and was also present at the gala event.At the gala event a number of important art objects were sold in cooperation with the Christies auctioneering firm. The entire proceeds were in favour of the child victims in Abruzzo.
The opening of the gala was done by a group of children of the "I Felini di Tanja Kok" foundation; they sang the song "Amica mia canzone". A special song about friendship.
I Felini di Tanja Kok is a foundation, set up in cooperation with Clarence Seedorf. The children help other children in the world with their performances and music. The I Felini di Tanja Kok foundation is not unknown in the flower trade. The Felini opened the Sailing Parade Westland last year with a song specially made for "international senior day". The song "Amica mia canzone" is about friendship and was written within the scope of "20 years recognition of the rights for the child". On November 20, 1989 the VN accepted the child rights treaty.
At the benefit gala the children of the “I Felini di Tanja Kok" foundation handed over to Clarence Seedorf a cheque, a cd and, very appropriate, the pot Anthurium Amis.
Afterwards all guests received an Anthurium cut flower by way of thanks for their friendship and help to the child victims of the earthquake in Abruzzo. During the official press conference, which was organised one week before the gala event, also all present press received the Amis pot Anthurium as a gift.
Amis fits well to the theme friendship of the benefit gala event. This Anthurium has intense pink, mid size flowers and dark green leaves. The Anthurium pot plant is easy to keep and stays beautiful for a very long time. Amis has a lot of expression and character. The sometimes green ears give the flowers a lovely contrast.
Amis has a beautiful symbolic significance for friendship. It stands for happiness, modesty, innocence, romance, gratitude and tenderness. From all flowers in life, friendship is the most flourishing.
Besides, Clarence Seedorf has been declared the newest Legacy Champion by the Nelson Mandela Foundation. On the occasion of this appointment none other then Nelson Mandela handed over on Friday June 5 the award for Clarence’s efforts for Champions for Children.
